| Case Study

Note:
This is not a "green" renovation. This is a case
study on building science, fiberglass windows and installation.
This
home, just outside of Vancouver, was a very large renovation with an
added pool room. The owner had bought windows from a local company
who were also contracted to do the install. After a number of attempts,
e3eco group was brought in to fix the overall project and install the windows
to a higher standard.
We were the construction manager, if you will, installing, managing,
co-ordinating and detailing all of the installation procedures to ensure
a well installed window that wouldn't fail. As you can see some of
the glass measured up to 9'-0 x 12'-0.
Challenges included ensuring proper drainage, installation of
flashing, and ensuring proper support of the entire glass surface.
As you can see from the bottom right photo - there was definitely a
"before" environment. |

"We were put
in a very difficult situation when the firm contracted to supply and
install the complex glazing on our pool enclosure experienced a
financial meltdown. I needed expertise fast and followed up on an
industry reference through which I contacted Troy and his firm e3eco group
Building Solutions. Troy was onsite the next day and despite
circumstances far beyond his control of just technical difficulties
he managed through the mess and saw to it the mistakes where
effectively resolved and the materials reinstalled correctly. He
then coordinated the assembly and production of the missing glazing
and arranged for a competent contractor to complete the job. I
appreciate what Troy was able to accomplish; given the scarcity of
qualified labour in the field today, he worked diligently to our
satisfaction. Without him the final result could have been a
disaster."
